     Ernesto J. Lamadrid, MD, AAHIVS

Dr. Ernesto Lamadrid was born in Miami, FL and raised in Puerto Rico. He went to the University of Puerto Rico where he received a bachelor of science in biology. He earned his medical degree at the Universidad Nacional Pedro Henriquez Ureña in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic in 1992. Completed two years of post-graduate training at Auxilio Mutuo Hospital in Puerto Rico. He moved to Gainesville in 1998 and worked with the Florida Department of Corrections in several clinical and administrative positions until 2006. In 2006 he was employed with the Alachua County Health Department in Gainesville where he practiced primary care and was in charge of the HIV clinic. In 2007 he was promoted to medical director of the Bureau of HIV/AIDS in Tallahassee, FL. But in 2007 decided to return to clinical practice back at the Health Department. He has worked in primary care for the last 18 years and has cared for HIV infected individuals for the last 16 years.
He was clinical assistant professor for the College of Nursing of the University of Florida and Clinical Instructor of Nova Southeastern University.  He is licensed in Florida and Puerto Rico. He also bilingual and speaks both Spanish and English.


Nurse Practitioner

     APRN Kalynn B Matisco

Kalynn brings to our practice a vast experience in infectious diseases. Among her impresive range of degrees from Nursing (1980) from Troy State University, Masters in Nursing (1982)  to a Doctorate of Science in Nursing (1993) then converted to PhD in 2013 both from University of Alabama. Nonetheless, she also completed Acute Care Nurse Practitioner in 1996 as well as Adult Nurse Practitioner at University of South Alabama. Lastly, she also holds a Family Nurse Practitioner Certificate since 2008 from Northern Kentucky University.

Her work experience includes; Bay Medical Center, Southeast Alabama Medical Center and Panama City Bay County Health Department. In 2013, she moved to Gainesville to work for the University of Florida, Department of Medicine, Division of Infectious Diseases and Global Medicine until 2018.

She is dedicated to provide the best care to our patients. In her free time, Kalynn enjoys working out, reading, outdoor activities and traveling.


Nurse Practitioner

APRN Amanda Trespalacios

Amanda joins our office with expirience in diverse patient care in the hospital setting from Surgical ICU RN to Charge Nurse/Case management. She was the recipient of the Daisy Award in 2010 for excellent customer service. Amanda holds an Associate of Science in Nursing from FL Community College, Bachelors of Science in Nursing from University of Central Florida and a Masters of Science in Nursing from University of South Florida.

Her work experience includes; UFH at Shands, Florida Hospital Healthcare, Highlands Regional Medical Center and Haven Hospice.

She strives to offer the best care for all patients. In her free time, Amanda enjoys time with her pets and visiting local farmer's markets as well as teaching Sunday School.

 Nelida Lamadrid

Office Manager

 Nélida opened and developed this office from the start. She runs the daily operation of the office and assists our patients with any administrative need. She wil will work with to find the best way we can meet your needs. She is a very hard worker dedicated to work with our team. She is a mother of three girls. She enjoys cooking, reading, gardening and trips to Disney. She also speaks Spanish. Born and raised in Puerto Rico.

 Front Desk/Reception Team

Our front desk team will greet you at check-in and check-out, answer the phone, schedule appointments, verify insurance, collect copays and fax documents among other duties. 

Medical Assistant Team

Our medical assistant team will meet with the patient first to take vitals and medical history/chief complaint for the visit. They will assist the physician and or nurse practitioner as needed as well as working on lab orders, prescriptions, messages,etc.  

Prior Authorization Specialist

Our prior authorization specialist will submitt any necessary documentation for medications or medical services in order to continue care for our patients.

Faith Foster - Front Desk 

Her personality and experience in customer service is an asset to our office. Enjoys traveling, wine tasting and cooking for friends. Faith understands and speaks some Spanish.

Elise Joseph - Front Desk, Medical Assistant & Prior Auth Specialist

Recently moved to Gainesville. Worked as Medical Assistant for 8 years. Has experience in Endocrinology and Pathology. Enjoys helping staff and patients in any way possible. Elise also speaks Haitian Creole.

Blake Fosmoe Medical Assistant

Gainesville native. Attends UF. Special interest in Medical Field. Enjoys all about cars. He understands Spanish.
